The Savoy is one of Monmouth's cultural gems. A Grade 2* listed theatre and cinema tucked away in busy Church Street.
It is the oldest working theatre building in Wales having been originally built in 1829. Refurbished on a few occasions it was unveiled as The Monmouth Picture House in 1928 and remained the pre-eminent picture palace of the Wye Valley for all of the 20th century. It fell on hard times 30 years ago but under new management since 201- it is now a thriving centre for live performance and the latest films.
